Kirby is an Austin-based cinematographer driven by a passion for documentary storytelling. Their portfolio demonstrates a versatile approach, encompassing everything from dynamic, run-and-gun short-form documentaries to meticulously planned, elevated documentary projects.
Kirby’s credits include serving as the series DP for the PBS broadcast series ‘Modern Pioneering,’ as well as shooting five episodes of ‘People’s Party with Talib Kweli’ and an episode of ‘Fresh Pair.’ Known for crafting intentionally well-lit scenes, both for interviews and B-roll, Kirby prioritizes visual richness and depth.
As an owner-operator of a Canon C400, DZOFilm Cine Zooms, and a versatile lighting truck, they offer a comprehensive production package. Their client list features major companies such as Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Rolling Stone, JP Morgan Chase, and Uber Freight. Their lens has captured notable figures including Meryl Streep, Luke Wilson, Robert De Niro, T.I., Shakey Graves, Charley Crockett, Bun B, and The Undertaker.
